SURROUNDINGS OF TORBOLE
Torbole is a charming town on the northernmost point of Lake Garda. It lies in an enchanting hollow which finds a mild climate and lush Mediterranean plant life.
Thanks to the “Ora” and “Pelèr” winds, Torbole is known worldwide amongst sailing, kite surf and windsurf enthusiasts.

Torbole is the perfect destination to relax and play a number of sports, including tennis, windsurfing, sailing and wonderful walks in the surrounding mountains, via ferratas, climbing, mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding, skyrunning and much more besides. Visitors can take in all Lake Garda’s main villages and attractions with Lake Garda’s boat services.
A bus service connects Torbole, Trento and Rovereto for visiting castles (such as Buonconsiglio and Arco), museums (such as the MUSE of Trento and the MART of Rovereto), archaeological areas (such as the Pile Dwellings on Lake Ledro or the “Marocche” with dinosaur tracks in the village of Dro) and the many lakes scattered in the surroundings (Lake Tenno, Lake Toblino, Lake Ledro, Lake Cavedine and Lake Terlago).
Convenient, safe and scenic cycle paths link Torbole with Riva del Garda and Arco.
Visitors can enjoy wine and food tours in the many farms scattered throughout the surrounding area.
Free climbing:
The area around Torbole has a global reputation for being a rock climbers’ paradise, with countless via ferratas at all levels offering breathtaking views. The “Sarca Walls” and “Rock Master” have a worldwide reputation which precedes them.
Hiking in the mountains:
Trekking, walks and Nordic walking are all commonplace for those living in the north of Lake Garda. The paths on Mount Altissimo or Mount Stivo, very near to Torbole, are just two of the paths in the area. The most daring will find what they are looking for in the Brenta Dolomites, which can be reached in a few hours by car, offering an infinite number of paths, via ferratas and mountain huts which need no introduction.
Mountain Biking:
Mountain bike enthusiasts will find Torbole is a cyclist’s paradise, offering hundreds of kilometres of signposted paths to suit all levels. Many racing bike stores, bike rental points and bike repair workshops are available in the town centre.
